In case you did not know, my family is from Hiroshima. Half of my family remain living in or around the Hiroshima Prefecture. I am only bringing this up because I've blogged about Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki a few times.

Shochan Hiroshimayaki is in my blog a couple of times in the past. First blog was when I discovered the restaurant in Puck's Alley back in 2009. Read about that experience and a little more about why I am doing this here: http://nakama-m-photos.blogspot.com/2009/05/shochan-hiroshimayaki-restaurant.html.

The second time is when the restaurant disappeared and I had no idea what happened until many months later I discovered they were selling take out Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki out of the Marukai Market. I was so excited to find them again so I blogged about that here: http://nakama-m-photos.blogspot.com/2010/05/i-found-where-shochan-hiroshimayaki.html. I didn't really think this location suited them because it was not longer a restaurant and I did not feel like picking up take out bento boxes of yakisoba.

To my surprise, I recently learned that Shochan Hiroshimayaki opened again in a new venue and this time as a restaurant, again! They are now located on the 2nd floor of 449 Kapahulu Avenue (the Hee Hing Building). My family really wants to offer support to this Hiroshima family that is devoted to serving Hiroshima Style Okonomiyaki so I have arranged a Tweetup. It will be Wednesday evening from 530pm at Shochan Hiroshimayaki. Please RSVP so I can sort of give the restaurant a heads up on how many people they may expect to see there. It's not a large restaurant and we will certainly be filling the entire (or almost) restaurant. It willl be BYOB and expect to spend between $12-$20 a person or so if you get the usual.
