Yesterday, I headed to
Beach Bum Cafe for a "quick stop". I normally only head there when I have time to relax and enjoy delicious coffee while chatting with friends or cofficing from my computer, but yesterday I was there for only 30 minutes. That is really quick.
Why did I go there for such a "quick" cup of coffee?
I made a special trip there on Saturday morning before an 11am appointment I had in Pearlridge so that I could taste a cup of the very rare Rusty's Farm Ka'u Red Bourbon Kenya Processed coffee that was roasted by
Miguel Meza. If you aren't so serious about coffee, this probably makes no sense to you. What it means is that I had to get there because there was only 1 pound of this special coffee in Hawaii and it is available at
Beach Bum Cafe. This special Red Bourbon crop grown at Rusty's Farm in Ka'u produced 10 pounds of coffee. That's not a lot. Each bean was hand picked and processed using the Kenya style of processing then roasted perfectly to a medium roast. Since the quality of this coffee is accompanied by extremely low quantity, this makes it a very special cup. So special it's only served as an 8 ounce cup in a ceramic mug and Beach Bum Cafe will not allow you to alter the coffee with any sugar or creams. Oh, of course it comes with a nice price too - $9.50. Not many people in the world will be able to experience this fine cup of coffee that is loaded with all sorts of flavors and a very silky body. If you are a coffee lover, I suggest you make your way to
Beach Bum Cafe to try this before it's all gone.
